Hi,

I’ve just moved my site onto a test subdirectory on our server. I’ve followed instructions here:

http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Moving+Your+Site+to+a+New+Server
as well as updated the .htaccess to now read: RewriteBase /folder/folder

I am not using a .htaccess on the /manager folder.

What is happening:

1. Manager shows up as blank screen. (the major issue)
2. Homepage load perfectly - except that the template tags are not updated(but I figure that is a caching issue)
3. Front other pages are not displaying correctly:
-css works on the home page and this page displays correctly.
-the other pages do not display but default to the homepage(FURLs not working)

I figure I just need the manager page to work, but I really have no idea. Spent hours trying various potential fixes obtained from this resource mostly, but so far nothing has worked.

If reading this and know of anything I can try - please let me know. Your help is greatly appreciated,

many thanks,

Craig modx noob v1.0

using:
MODx Revolution 2.0.4-pl2

server info:
PHP Version 5.2.13
MySQL Client API version 5.0.91

(if you need more info let me know)

I’ve just successfully installed modx in another subdirectory on the same server using softaculous. So I know the server supports modx (good news).

Does that narrows it down?

I am having the same issue.
Working fine locally, as soon as I upload it to the server, the Manager screen is blank...

Been trying stuff with a php.ini file, but there does not seem to be much documentation on that.

OK solved - my issue had to do with the links in the config.inc.php at first they were wrong, and then when fixed I could login - but the assets were missing from the manager. I could piece together with the scriptaculous install how to set the urls in the config. Now it works.

It took more than editing the 6 lines in the config - but I guess if I knew more about hosting modx on subdomain I would have known that.

I am still having this issue.
I deleted and then reloaded everything last night.
When I go to the /manager page I get a blank screen.
Checking the source code in the browser, it is empty.

Here are the lines of code I adjusted:
if (!defined('MODX_CORE_PATH')) {
$modx_core_path= '/core/';
define('MODX_CORE_PATH', $modx_core_path);
}
if (!defined('MODX_PROCESSORS_PATH')) {
$modx_processors_path= '/core/model/modx/processors/';
define('MODX_PROCESSORS_PATH', $modx_processors_path);
}
if (!defined('MODX_CONNECTORS_PATH')) {
$modx_connectors_path= '/connectors/';
$modx_connectors_url= '/connectors/';
define('MODX_CONNECTORS_PATH', $modx_connectors_path);
define('MODX_CONNECTORS_URL', $modx_connectors_url);
}
if (!defined('MODX_MANAGER_PATH')) {
$modx_manager_path= '/manager/';
$modx_manager_url= '/manager/';
define('MODX_MANAGER_PATH', $modx_manager_path);

}

}
if (!defined('MODX_URL_SCHEME')) {

$http_host= str_replace(':' . $_SERVER['SERVER_PORT'], '', $http_host); // remove port from HTTP_HOST
}
$http_host .= ($_SERVER['SERVER_PORT'] == 80 || $isSecureRequest) ? '' : ':' . $_SERVER['SERVER_PORT'];
define('MODX_HTTP_HOST', $http_host);
}
}
if (!defined('MODX_SITE_URL')) {
$site_url= $url_scheme . $http_host . MODX_BASE_URL;
define('MODX_SITE_URL', $site_url);
}
if (!defined('MODX_ASSETS_PATH')) {
$modx_assets_path= '/assets/';
$modx_assets_url= '/assets/';
define('MODX_ASSETS_PATH', $modx_assets_path);
define('MODX_ASSETS_URL', $modx_assets_url);
}

*** I guess you can’t style the text in the code brackets. sad but you can see where I made the edits "color=red" ***

I cleared the cache file as well.
Using PHP Version 5.2.14

Thanks

Check your default workspace entry in the table ’[yourprefix]_workspaces’. If it’s still pointing to the old path, changing it to the current one might help.

Thanks, tried that and it was fine.

What about folder permissions?
"/[root]", "/core/packages","/core/cache", and "/core/export" are all set to writeable.
safe_mode = off
register_globals = off
magic_quotes_gpc = Off
memory_limit = 128M
max_execution_time = 120

Tried the blank /core/config/config.inc.php file and get an xPDO error.

Not sure what my MySGL version or how to check that...

huh BG66

Ran setup again and it worked fine, except for this massage at the end.
Your assets/ directory was not created at: /assets/
You will need to create this directory and make it writable if you want to use Package Management or 3rd Party Components.

Both folders are there.
Assets was set to 777 and assets/components was at 755.
Changed assets/components to 777 with no change.
