Ruby on Rails Authlogic and modx login

I do a lot of web app development with RoR, and let Modx handle front end stuff - up until now I’ve had a backend area in RoR for things like product management. A user would have to login to the RoR backend, which is using authlogic, but would have to login separately to Modx to do webpage edits.

I’m hoping someone can get me started (point me in a direction) of merging Ruby on Rails authlogic with modx manager login.

If you are using Revolution (which you didn’t specify) you can extend the modUser class and override the behavior to allow an external authentication plugin to handle the login and add any MODx user metadata required.

What if I wanted to do it this way :

Someone Logs into Rails Backend

Then that login cookie would automatically log the person into modx

Or Vice Versa.
