MODx files question

Greetings,

My manifestation is due to the fact that when I try the install MODx cms i get some errors.
When i try to upload via ftp some files cannot be uploaded. Some examples are .htacess or .gitignore.

The .htacess i can handle renaming it but the .gitignore simply cannot upload or rename in any way....

The "gitignore" is not being on the allowed file types list in the hosting and if this files exist they probably are necessary, so if any one would help clarifying this doubt i would be very much appreciated. This file is required for a functioning installation or use? Can i safely ignore them?

Hello Saulo,

Those .gitignore files are coming from git version control system (like svn, mercucial…) and are not needed for MODx. So you can go on without worry

I’m recently new to cms system so sorry for any newbie question. Playing around for one month, more or less. I really, really, really like MODx!
Since i discover it do not sleep very well...
