Path issues - #div behaving differently on different sites

Hi there - me again

I have two sites, both very similar. One is on Evo 1.0.3 and one on Evo 1.0.4.

I’ve added a ’back to top’ link on both sites (I have a div called ’top’ near the top of both sites). in each instance I’ve just added a link like:



Now on 1.0.3, this works great on every page, however, on 1.0.4, it keeps going back to the home page. SO the link always displays http://mysite.co.uk/#top, when I might be on the about page, or the contact page etc.

No matter what page I’m on in the 1.0.3 site, it goes to that page url like http://mysite.co.uk/news/#top etc.

Both pages have a base href (uncached) so this is very puzzling!

Any ideas?

Are you sure you have something like
<a name="tips">Useful Tips Section</a>
or
<a id="tips">Useful Tips Section</a> (for xhtml11.dtd)
in the template

Definitely have a div at the top of the page with an id of top, and am using a link to go to it like <a href=#top">Linky</a>.

Its just giving me site_url path before the link, instead of the full link

Is the doctype different?

Both sites are using the same doctype:



Which I believe falls back onto strict.

I’m completely lost on this one!

Have you checked your system settings between the sites or htaccess etc. Is it being told to do this somehow?

As far as I’m aware, its not being told to do anything different to the other site. Like I say, the only difference is that one is version 1.0.3 and the other is 1.0.4.

The .htaccess (I’m using a rewrite for IIS) is the same for both sites.

I ran through the site settings briefly, but didn’t notice anything specific, and I’m not really sure if there is anything that could cause this issue?!

Have you tried creating simple test pages and see if it works without the extra html code?
