    Hi . . . .

    I need to turn on the drop down navigation in my template and I am having a hard time doing that. Where in the Wayfinder snippet can I set the drop downs please?

    thanks,
    Daniel

      Well it s not something that you can "switch on". You might want to check the documentation that resides inside assets/snippets/wayfinder/examples folder.

      There ’s cssplay, mollio and slidingdoors examples.

        Currently they are showing sub-directories but I need them to ’pop out’ if possible. Plesae see example of what I have below.
        http://www.btzbuffalo.org/index.php?id=1

        How do I connect the ’cssplay’ or ’slidingdoors’ dropdown nav to the site? I am seeing the example folder but I need to connect the programming to get the dropdowns working.

        How do I modify the snippet call to pull in one of those?

        I was told it was already in the CSS of the template and all I needed to do was edit the &level= parameter of the Wayfinder snippet but that isn’t working.

        Can anyone help me with the dropdowns? I am stumped.

        thanks,
        Daniel

          Did you have working drop down/flyouts before you moved the site into modx?

          Wayfinder won’t directly generate a flyout (by automatically adding the CSS, markup and javascript), but it can pretty much match any required markup of a working version, using the various template paramaters, to achieve a custom flyout/dropdown. This adds to its flexibility but makes it more complicated than something like &flyouts=`1`

            I am using Andreas 00 as the base template, building straight into Modx, but I need flyouts. Can you lead me in the right direction?

              Andreas 00 does not have this function built in, you will have to extend it and its a matter of knowing HTML/CSS to accomplish it. I see that Susan provided several really good starting points in your other post – I would start there and work through the samples. Once you are able to accomplish this though HTML/CSS I am sure you could get help here replicating that using Wayfinder.

              If you don’t know how to replicate the pop out/drop-down effect using HTML/CSS, that is more of a front-end development question versus a specific wayfinder/modx question.

                Thank you. If I can’t work this out what would you charge just to get the flyout working for me?

                thanks,

                  I added that to the wayfinder call in the index page tempaltge code but not deal. Still not working. Am I missing something else?

                  Here is the code below

                  <div id="leftside">
                  <h2 class="hide">Sample menu:</h2>
                  [[Wayfinder? &startId=`0` &level=`2` &outerTpl=`outer` &selfClass=`current` &rowTpl=`row` &config=`slidingdoors.config.php` ]]

                  Here is the page
                  http://www.btzbuffalo.org/index.php?id=1

                  Here is part of the snippet code. Is there something I need to customize here?

                  $wf->_config = array(
                  ’id’ => isset($startId) ? $startId : $modx->documentIdentifier,
                  ’level’ => isset($level) ? $level : 2,
                  ’includeDocs’ => isset($includeDocs) ? $includeDocs : 0,
                  ’excludeDocs’ => isset($excludeDocs) ? $excludeDocs : 0,
                  ’ph’ => isset($ph) ? $ph : FALSE,
                  ’debug’ => isset($debug) ? TRUE : FALSE,
                  ’ignoreHidden’ => isset($ignoreHidden) ? $ignoreHidden : FALSE,
                  ’hideSubMenus’ => isset($hideSubMenus) ? $hideSubMenus : FALSE,
                  ’useWeblinkUrl’ => isset($useWeblinkUrl) ? $useWeblinkUrl : TRUE,
                  ’fullLink’ => isset($fullLink) ? $fullLink : FALSE,
                  ’nl’ => isset($removeNewLines) ? ’’ : "\n",
                  ’sortOrder’ => isset($sortOrder) ? strtoupper($sortOrder) : ’ASC’,
                  ’sortBy’ => isset($sortBy) ? $sortBy : ’menuindex’,
                  ’limit’ => isset($limit) ? $limit : 0,
                  ’cssTpl’ => isset($cssTpl) ? $cssTpl : FALSE,
                  ’jsTpl’ => isset($jsTpl) ? $jsTpl : FALSE,
                  ’rowIdPrefix’ => isset($rowIdPrefix) ? $rowIdPrefix : FALSE,
                  ’textOfLinks’ => isset($textOfLinks) ? $textOfLinks : ’menutitle’,
                  ’titleOfLinks’ => isset($titleOfLinks) ? $titleOfLinks : ’pagetitle’,
                  ’displayStart’ => isset($displayStart) ? $displayStart : FALSE,
                  );

                    try
                    &config=`slidingdoors`

                    Off course, once you got that, you ll have to work the css!
                    But is the this not what you are looking for? So this in your call and adapting it all,
                    &config=`cssplay-flyout`

                    edit
                    &config=`cssplay-flyoutrev`
                    even closer

                      Well . . . I tried adding
                      [[Wayfinder? &startId=`0` &level=`1` &outerTpl=`outer` &selfClass=`current` &rowTpl=`row` &config=`cssplay-flyoutrev`]]

                      It did bring in the flyouts, thanks, but it messed up my tables

                      See below.
                      http://www.btzbuffalo.org/index.php?id=1

                      I wonder what is happening there. Weird. Plus there are some strange gray bars covering a few buttons. What is happening there?
