    Good day.

I’m currently developing a website for ESL teachers. The site is already up but we need to build a directory of the teachers. The directory will allow for any teacher who registers to create his own profile page (just a single profile page), he can manage the page, add and edit information.

The website is running on ModX Revo 2.0.4 and runs on a VPS server.

My three-day search on the website ended up with the following notion on the site will be built:

    1. Use Login to manage the member’s login area. (I’m sure I’ll figure how it will be put to use through some further research on the forums)
    2. getResources for the actual directory list.(I can manage this)

I need help as to how the profile page will be created. I was hoping that the user can manage the page without having to access the manager.

My strength is with XHTML/CSS..I have little to none knowledge in PHP but I can read some parts of a code. I’ve been using ModX since 2006.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Neil.

      Hello

The Login is provided with some useful snippets... Login is one of them, used to log in, but you have too UpdateProfile that provide the ability of edit and update profile.
You can use Formit for the profile form...
Have a look at the children pages of Login at:
      http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/Login.Profile
      http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/Login.UpdateProfile
If you need a Registering form have a look at
      http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/Login.Register

      And Formit
      http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/FormIt

And more generally have a look at the rtfm for addons : http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/Home

      Cheers

            Looking forward to it!

Very interested in how people creatively use MODx and its addons.

              @ anso:

I made a profile submission page but it’s very archaic. A "tutor" will submit his profile through eForm which will be emailed to me. Then I manually create his page. (Pretty much a travel back to the 90s).

My lack of PHP knowledge is a severe handicap. I’m currently skimming through several books/tutorials on PHP. Then I can go back to a more powerful profile page setup.

I’m also interested in a "Quiz" plugin for ModX.

              @zi:

ModX is really interesting. I can port/make any design to ModX. Now I’m stuck with the functions/backend.

              Thanks.
