How do I replicate a TV across multiple pages?

Hi All

I have been asked by my client to be able to update their "Course Dates" section on their Home pagewww.kettlebelltrainer.co.uk so that it displays on the right hand section of their "education" page.

At present the Course dates is an editable Text area using a TV on the homepage.

Can you please explain how I do this or point me in the right direction of a tutorial.

Thanks

Phil

TVs are "attached" to templates, so in this case, the "Course Date" section/TV is attached to the Home template.

If you want it to appear exactly the same, just place it in the "Education" template.
Depending how the site is designed, this will mean that you now have to update two TVs instead of one,
unless it is used as a chunk, then updating the chunk will update both TVs in both pages...

hope this is clear...

Hi Charliez

Thanks for the response. I ideally do not want the client to update the chunk, unless I can force them to use the Editor. Is there no other way I dynamically updating the content from one TV to the other?

Thanks

Phil

You could use $EVAL in the TV and put code there that gets the value of the other TV. How you do that depends on the version of MODx.

Hi Bob

Sounds interesting, I am using Modx 1.0.2
