    This forum really doesn’t work too much... Always so difficult to get answers.

    Anyway, a little update (revo 2.0.4): there’s another bug.
    If I uninstall gallery, I continue to see it under the components menu item. Even if I force permanent removal (by following the right click options), I continue to see it under the components menu.

    It seems that revo is not a really ’final’ version.

    Anyone?

      Web Server:

      * PHP: 5.2.4-2ubuntu5.6 / CGI/FastCGI
      * Apache 2.2
      * Linux cable 2.6.34.7-unbit x86_64

      Database:

      * MySQL version: 5.0.51a - I know it’s not supported, but my provider says that all issues/bugs are patched, and from some arbitrary test, it seems true.

      MODx:
      * Version 2.0.4 pl2

      Browser/Client:

      * ff and safari, latest
      * Leopard, latest

      STILL NOTHING? ANYONE?

        1. Caps are not appreciated.
        2. MySQL 5.0.51a is not supported. That’s listed in our Server Requirements as well as a specific page on why we don’t support 5.0.51a.
        3. You tried an upgrade from Evo to Revo, which according to our docs, is not officially supported yet.
        4. You need to detail exactly what steps got you to the bug you are showing.

        Please act with courtesy on this forum, as you are getting this product and all its services for free; if you have a bug, the best thing is to report bugs in the proper channels (here for Gallery), and then either wait for a bugfix or contribute patches and bugfixes for the product or service.

        This is, after all, open source. You are getting it free of charge.

          Ok but as I see it seems the only way to get some attention.

          I know but I explained above.

          I also wrote I did a fresh install of the latest Revo. See above.

          4. You need to detail exactly what steps got you to the bug you are showing.

          I did. Can you be more precise? What’s not clear to you?

          I did it about a week ago. And anyway, I’m not too sure it’s a gallery’s bug.
          I also posted something to jira, and to the italian forum.

          Yes I’m also contributing to the italian modx traslation, for free.
          And I usually pay attention to help requests about a plugin for mootools I’m distributing since some years ago, open source.
          Finally, every time I download modx they ask me some money, and they’re right, but I would do it If I only could finish 1 real site, and you know, it’s a bit difficult for a newbe if it’s so hard to get some real help. There’s also a beautiful ’spread modx’ link up there, but how can I do it at this time? Right?

            I would not trust your provider if they say that MySQL has "all bugs/issues patched" in 5.0.51a. That is most likely your issue.

              Ok thank you I’ll try to buy a specific service so I can install the latest mysql version. Hope it will fix the problem.

                Another programmer that works with me, on another computer (win 7), with a fresh new installation of modx and all the requirements ok, has just installed Gallery and all works fine but the image upload; reading the modx error logs, he get this:

                ERROR @ /modx/assets/components/gallery/connector.php) [Gallery] An error occurred while trying to upload the file:

                C:\Windows\Temp\php9190.tmp
                to

                C:/ProgramFiles(x86)/ApacheSoftwareFoundation/Apache2.2/htdocs/modx/assets/components/gallery/files/2010/10/lighthouse.jpg
                [19/10/10 18.57.38] Pietro: direi di assolvere

                So, I mean, this is the Nth modx+gallery installation (different systems, different server, different db, locally and on-line) that we made and can’t get it work. I ask, since Gallery is in fact an rc, do you think it’s safe for me to continue trying to get it work or maybe is it better to stop and go ahead in some other way?

                  That sounds like a permissions issue on your windows box.

                  If you’re having problems with Gallery, feel free to try another solution.

                    Thank you I’ll tell him to check the permissions.

                    Bye!

                      My two cents:

                      Try changing your 'assets/components/gallery/connector.php' file permissions to 755.

                      I recently upgraded to Gallery 1.3.0 and all of a sudden the images in the gallery weren't showing (Front or Back End). Once I changed the permission on that one file, everything went back to normal.

                      I'm on MODx Revo 2.1.3 by the way.
