Weblogin signup form modification advice

I’ve got a MODx 1.03 install and I have the standard weblogin form setup (WebSignup 1.1) for someone to signup to get membership privileges. The client wants to modify some of the signup fields (make some required) and add a few new fields. Also the client wants to be able to see the info the web user enters into the form fields in the Manager area. So for example, if we require the individual signing up to enter the date they took a course, my client will need to be able to see that info in the Manager area in the "Web User" info. Anyone had any experience with this? I’ve seen references to WebloginPE, but not 100% sold on this option.
