Hi all,
I posed this question on Twitter but thought it might help to open up a thread here, too. I just had a user practically obliterate a site because they chose "Move Resource" from the drop-down and moved it who-knows-where. It’s fixed now, but I’d like to be able to prevent this in the future. Can I remove this from the drop-down list for specific users or groups? I don’t see it as an option in "Roles."
It’s important enough to me that I’d be willing to hack the core. I guess a better question in that regard might be: does the manager recognize MODx API calls? If so, I think I could check usergroup and add or remove that menu item accordingly. If that’s possible, I could use a push in the right direction.
Thanks!

The context menu triggers a load of manager/actions/move_document.dynamic.php (action 51 in the manager’s index.php file). This check for save_document permission (role) and also for resource access permission (user/resource group).
If you want to remove that option from the context menu altogether, it’s in manager/frames/tree.php on line 494.

Thanks, Susan! I didn’t have much time to work on this, so I just commented out the lines you referenced. If in the future I make a more intelligent method that checks permissions first, I’ll post a how-to.
