Pull in random article

Hi there,

If you look at the front page, it pulls in news stories from the news section and also latest articles.

at the top of the page i want to have like a featured article , so it pulls in one single article , but each time someone refreshes the page it brings in a different article.

So im aiming for it to pull in one single article from the articles section , i don’t want them to be pulled in by date, name or anything i want it to be completely random.

Is this possible? i have searched for a way but cannot find out how to do so. I’ve tried trial and error about 20 times now but to no avail.

Can someone help?

Database : MySQL

If you are using Ditto to pull in the stories, you can set &randomize=`1` in the call to get results in random order.
