    Hi,

I know there are several threads concerning this topic for Revo, but is it possible to install Evo outside (above) the web root, and if so, to what extent? As described elsewhere in the forums, a watered down alternative would be to move the DB details outside of public_html (or similar) and then have ’require_once /path/to/DBdetails’ in the config file, which I guess to some extent is more secure, but can anymore be done?

    Thanks,
    Dan

No. There are too many places in the original Evo core manager files that have file path references that can’t easily be adjusted. That’s one reason why the Revo branch got started in the first place. Easier to do something new than to try to rework the original to be more flexible.

Ok, thanks for clarifying that. I’ll stick to just keeping the DB details out of the root for now - not quite ready to make the jump to Revo!
