    Hi Guys,

    I have developed my Modex site in a subdirectory on my production server and its now ready to go live. Can you see any problems in just copying all the files to the parent directory and then just updating the .htacess file ? Or will I have to do a install ?

        Glad you got it working @sirus21
        If you could detail how you did this others could maybe learn.

        Also if you could add [SOLVED] to the first post Subject.
        Helps others find a working solution.

        Regards.

          This was my solution:

          1) I simply copied the entire contents of my sub directory to the parent directory
          2) I then updated the config file with the slightly different paths
          core/config/config.inc.php.
          As per the documentation http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Moving+Your+Site+to+a+New+Server the ammendments I made were to
           /* PATHS */
          $modx_core_path= '/path/to/modx_doc_root/core/';
          $modx_processors_path= '/path/to/modx_doc_root/core/model/modx/processors/';
          $modx_connectors_path= '/path/to/modx_doc_root/connectors/';
          $modx_manager_path= '/path/to/modx_doc_root/manager/';
          $modx_base_path= '/path/to/modx_doc_root/';
          $modx_assets_path= '/path/to/modx_doc_root/as
          sets/';

          /* HOST (used for command-line PHP stuff) */
          $http_host='yoursite.com';

          3) I then uploaded the Modx set-up folder to my parent directory and ran the installer which defaulted to upgrade mode.

          I don’t know if this is the correct solution but it worked well for me. smiley
