Hi,
I am new to modx and I for the life me I cant work out how to structure the document tree , for example I would like www.mysite.co.uk/about/terms.html . Could someone please give me some advice on how to do this ?
Hello
First way :
1 - create a Resource called "About" with an alias "about", save it
2 - then in the tree right-click on your new resource called "About" -> choose "Add a resource here"
3- give your new resource a name of "Terms" and an alias "terms". Save it
You can see in the tree that your resource "About" icon is now a folder, and under it you have your Terms page.
Ensure you have enabled the friendly URL to display the address as mysite.com/about/terms.html instead of mysite/3/5 for example.
Second way
a) Same for the 1st step.
b) Repeat the 1st step with a new resource, call it "Terms" with an alis of "terms" and specify the ID of the parent (here "About") in the parent field. (the ID is the number in parenthesis just after the name of the resource)
Hpe this helps
Cheers
I’m not sure exactly what you’re asking but this might help:
1. Structure your Resource tree the way you’d like your menu to look.
2. Just create the resources, then drag and drop them to where you want them in the structure.
Welcome to MODx.
