I am working on a site that involves a few searches that have nothing to do with a "Site Search" such as a search for ’Doctors’, done by zip code, etc. Is this something I can set up with Modx?

If you’re asking "can you access other databases" from within MODx, the answer is yes. For example, an external (to MODx) mySQL database can be accessed using PHP connect/query commands.

FWIW, I’ve not tried to access an Access databases - just other MySQL sets.
