I’m in Revolution 2.0.0 pl. On Apache 5.2.14 running on Centos.
When I upload an image or make a folder in files or using gallery, I am unable to edit any of the files or folders made by MODx.
I can download the files and folders fine using FTP, but if I re-upload the images i get an error saying I don’t have permission. When I log into Plesk and look at the files and folders the user and group are set too Apache. This is a different user and group then the folders I make using FTP.
Anyone have any idea why this is happening and how i would go about making the files MODx makes a little more flexible? Maybe a different user etc.
If you need more info let me know.
Cheers,
Bret
You’ll need to run PHP as a user or in a group that can share permissions with your FTP user. MODx just uses standard PHP commands to write files, so this case seems because PHP is running as Apache. Either give your user access to edit apache-owned files, or change the user PHP runs on.
