I need to set up a basic site with a podcast. How to do this in MODx?

I have a friend who is a pastor and would like to have a simple way to upload his sermons and have them downloadable directly and also in a podcast. I’m considering using WordPress for this because I don’t have tons of time to spend on it and because I’m not too concerned with setting up everything exactly as I want like MODx would give me, but on the other hand MODx tends to be quite good for small projects as well.

Assuming I decide to use MODx (it would be Evolution 1.0 RC for now), I could use some suggestions on what addons I’m going to need or that could make this easier. I was reading a bit earlier about how to set up a podcast, and it’s basically just an RSS feed from what I understand, so it should be pretty easy. But if there’s a nice MODx addon that could handle this automatically, that would be even better. Previews of the sound files right on the site would be cool, but those kinds of extra features are critical. He’ll probably want to be able to write some quick text about each sermon and to specify the title and date of it. The seems right in line with MODx documents, so there shouldn’t be any trouble there.

I’m mostly just looking for tips and ideas on how to do this effectively and easily. Thanks! I appreciate in advance any help.

Thanks! I read through it quickly and it seems pretty thorough. In the next few days I’ll sit down and work through it.
