okay, as a former technical writer I prefer the perfect GUI... smiley
but I get used to two different approaches learning something new: especially when facing the need of working with a new CMS or stuff like that.
first, I install the system (see above).
than, probably struggled, I read the (hopefully state of the art) documentation to get an idea of the system, the context and the way of thinking of the engineers.
but while working on the system I need a clever reference, easy to search and reflecting the variuos needs of developer, editors or designers (most of the time I’m all of this or have to explain that stuff).

luckily, the modx community is lined up very well, thanks to all of them!

    kind regards from hanover, germany

        Stop stop stop

        Are you Modx community?
Because being a small community, intelligent, open but small.

1 It is not the same for someone new to Modx.
Should have a quick guide Concepts.

2 It is not the same for someone new to Modx with some knowledge in programming. They explain what they should be extensible system.

3 The world does not revolve around the English-speaking? And no offense, Why this consultation in English only?

I’m sure there are similar discussions in the forum for your language; or if not you can start one!

What a small world for you.
I am telling you that the English-speaking videos are you can add audio in different languages (easy and fast), such as DVD.

or if not you can start one!
I’m talking about the greatest work only once "or if not you can start one!" In each language?.

My specialty is video, and I am willing to help if you do not bother -

              Mortal,

We have to look to our non-English communities to bring up such topics. If you have suggestions on how we can better coordinate our other language moderators and community members to repeat or translate our questions to other languages that would be great.

I don’t think being antagonistic or resentful is helping. Susan (sottwell) is one of the most helpful and instructive forum members and her suggestion was sincere. This is a community where everyone has the ability to start a thread and ask similar questions. If you wanted to start a similar thread and post the poll results that would be great.

Our development team (especially the core team) will be first writing documentation in English but as for video we can possibly provide copies w/ transcripts for translation and transcripts for future translation. On that note it makes sense for the videos of the MODx manager be re recorded using local language settngs for the manager too and not just English with native voice overs.

              Thanks,

              Jay

I do not intend to discredit anyone.
I apologize if that was what was understood.
Is that the core team is English so I thought it appropriate to comment here.
And therefore the first tracks will be in English.
And my suggestion is to make English-speaking videos.
And beside files eg mp3 with different languages made.
A player like VLC can easily replace the audio.
So I do not understand. Why am I being asked to write this somewhere else?.
Only if they do that, they move to the Spanish forum for organizing
                That’s it

                  Mortal,

I would love any suggestions you have to offer about how we can make MODx more available as well as get more participation from non-English speaking users and community members. I personally don’t know what it would take to replace the audio portion of screencasts (I do in real TV production since I am an ex-Sound Recordist).

Thanks for your passionate feedback and lets work together to help our wonderful multilingual community spread and grow MODx knowledge.

                  Cheers,
                  Jay

                    If I have understood well.
You ask me how to make and play the audio?
If so with pleasure. Seeking examples in English.
But I say that is very basic.
We should go to another thread, no?

                      Discrimination, not at all...

English is the common language spoken for business around the world.
In a place like this, it is far easier to cross-comunicate in English and then
go to each language community to spread the news/knowledge/consensus
and then come back to add to the world discussion in English.

There are also unique developments happening in other language forums
that are matured in one language and then brought to the English forums
to be shared to the world...

We ALL welcome your help and documentation...

                      As to the OP content...
I learn visually and by doing it myself.
BUT I prefer simple language, non-lawyer or super geek talk
see the definitions in the Revo Glossary for Transport Packages and Transport Vehicles...
it is, in my opinion, Star Trek language that left me exactly the same after reading them as
                      I was before...

simple language is the best for learning...
