Is it possible to turn off the editor in the preview?

I find the drop down editor in the preview (localhost) while working on templates really annoying. Is there some way to disable it? I’ve looked every place I can think of in the manager, but did not find it.
I can see having it on a live user site - but not during development.
Thanks.

solved.
