    I have to rename the folder where all the modx (revo) components are running on the server.
    I changed all path details in »core > config > config.inc.php«
    The website seems to be visible as it should but in the manager I receive this error message:

    Could not find action file at: /var/www/web46/html/modx/manager/controllers/default/element/chunk/update.php

    Obviously I missed a path (or more) to change but cannot find it.

    What are the »correct« steps to change an url path from p.e.
    »http://mydomain.com/old/manager/...« to »http://mydomain.com/new/manager...« and with that from
    »http://mydomain.com/old/index.php?id=...« to »http://mydomain.com/new/index.php?id=...«
    I couldn’t find a tutorial for that.

    Who can help me to get my site running again?
    Thank you

      Hi,
      I had an idea, but you said you had already changed the file paths in config.inc.php.

      Just a double-check: there are 2 spots to change, I believe, on this setting in that file:
      MODX_MANAGER_PATH

      Did you get both of those changed? If so, I’m stumped, and one of the REV aces might be needed. I thought of .htaccess, but the typical one in the root should not affect the manager at all, I think.

      Good luck, Dave

        You need to change the core specification in all four config.core.php files and you need to change the manager spec. in the core/config/config.inc.php. Then you need to do an upgrade install.

        The four config.core.php files are here:

        § MODx root directory
        § /manager/
        § /connectors/
        § /setup/includes/

          Thank you for your help.

          Rob, the config.core.php file in the manager and the connector folder are absolutly identical:

          <?php
          define(’MODX_CORE_PATH’, dirname(dirname(__FILE__)) . ’/core/’);
          define(’MODX_CONFIG_KEY’, ’config’);

          How shall I change core specifications here?
          As I throw away the setup foder I cannot change setup/includes.

          Thank you

            Once you move the manager, that path isn’t accurate.

            I would just hard-code the actual path in all files at this point, although it’s always a good idea to run setup in upgrade mode after changing things.

                Hi! the problem is that some file was cached. Using search in files(notepad++) look for "old/manager".
                When found - kill that file. Relogin into /manager

                  I got same moving from maps on the server.
                  Could not find action file at: ............... through whole manager.

                  I just simply trashed all in the core/cache/ folder. Worked great!
                  (Clear cache was not posible through owner isues. I move the cache files also without empty cache first)

                    You just solved an issue I always have. Up until now, I could not for the life of me understand why my websites kept breaking every time I either changed the name or tried to move the directory.
                    I kept checking and double checking my paths and nothing could ever fix them. Such a simple thing to do and I never thought about it being the cache. ***Big Facepalm***
