Hey all.
In my continuous efforts to setup a perfect project structure under Subversion and to streamline the deployment process i moved the Manager folder into a separate repository since it doesn’t change much between the projects. So now i can simply include it with svn:externals property. The only file that does change is config.inc.php. So i created a new folder called Settings for all of the config files. A symbolic link to YAMS modules config file works fine. But linking to config.inc.php breaks everything. MODx can’t find document.parser.class.inc.php files and throws "failed to open stream" php warnings.
The link was created using a relative path to make sure that it can be deployed into different environments.
It works fine through the file system, I can open and edit the the file.
So it appears that it is MODx that has issues with reading a linked file.
Any ideas as why that is would be greatly appreciated.
If your using apache you need to tell it to follow symlinks, this is disabled by default I believe, the option is ’"Options FollowSymLinks’, refer to the apache documentation for details. You may also need this with other web servers.
Use MODx, or the cat gets it!
thanks Shamblett
.htaccess already has Options +FollowSymlinks set.
