When logging into the MODx Manager, I receive an error message advising me to alter the “config file”. It suggests making the file “read only” and changing the config file to read: /manager/includes/config.inc.php. I tried using TinyMCE to edit the file but could not locate the string. Is this file accessible from inside the MODx manager, or must it be edited from an outside source? Will someone please advise? Thanks.

If it’s on a Linux server your FTP program should let you change the permissions to read only on manager/includes/config.inc.php.
On a Windows server you may have to use your hosting domain control panel, although I have sometimes managed to use the FTP send raw command "site ReadOnly config.inc.php" to change it, might need a couple of goes.
