So I’ve got a jQuery carousel that’s using slide panels to allow the visitor to click "<" and ">" arrows on the left and right respectively to sort through the carousel. Each slide will have 1 main image with text underneath. The challenge I’m having is there are previous and next thumbnail images in each slide panel so the user has a preview of what is next and previous in the carousel. I can set this up in Ditto no problem...the issue though is figuring out how to "grab" that previous and next thumbnail that resides in each slide panel showing what’s going to be next or before. Maybe this is not something Ditto would necessarily be suited for, but rather jQuery. Anyone had any luck accomplishing this?

For something that simple, you can also use Jot; it’s not difficult to add the Resource Browser to upload/select images to a Jot form tpl, and its output tpl can be any structure you like.

On one site, I’m using Ditto for a slideshow of people, only because there’s another main "People" page with summary text and links to individual people’s pages will full bios. I’ll later be using Ditto on the same resources for a structured timeline; I will probably need to add a date/time TV to each person’s resource to implement that, but it won’t be too difficult.

On the same site I’m using Jot for a "Sponsors" slideshow since all that ever gets displayed is the sponsor’s logo, which logo image is also a URL. So in Jot all I need is a field for the sponsor’s URL and an image file type hooked to the Resource Browser for the actual logo (this replaces the usual "subject" textarea field). I’m using the MiniPhoto snippet in the Jot display tpl for the slideshow to minify its logos. The slideshow images contain a link to the main Sponsors page which has full-sized logos, each linked to the homepage of the sponsor. If the site owner ever wants some kind of content for each sponsor, it won’t be difficult to add the main "comments" field to the form tpl.

I’m using the jCarousel Lite for both slideshows.
