not sure if this is a bug with the latest evo release 1.0.4 so I placed my question here, I went to backup my remote site onto my localhost when I tried backup in the modx manager the database generated was only a 6.2kb file, I knew this wasn’t right because my db on my last backup was running 16mb, anyway, I did a manual backup of my database and got it to my machine, but my question is this: what could be causing this?

I do backups of the db on a weekly basis and since upgrading from 1.0.3 to 1.0.4 has this happened, the remote site seems fine...

Have you looked at the .sql file the manager’s backup produces? At what point does it fail?

hey susan, thanks for pointing that out, not sure, but it seems when it is in the tables produced by easy2 gallery (images stored in the db), it fails, here is the last line of code (from the manager generated backup)

<b>Fatal error</b>: Allowed memory size of 94371840 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 16285697 bytes) in <b>/home/rootname/mysite.com/manager/actions/bkmanager.static.php</b> on line <b>29</b><br />

Not sure how to rectify the error it seems to surpass the memory allocation, can I tweak that in htaccess?

when I go to my site’s phpMyadmin, I can backup without a hitch....also my db size is getting quite big, can I clear modx2_event_log (13.47mb)and modx2_manager_log (2.15mb) without causing any hiccups?

Of course; you can truncate it directly via command line or phpMyAdmin or whatever, or use the "clear log" option in the Manager at Reports -> System Events. You can also clear the Manager Actions table, but you have to do a search in the Manager Actions to display the rest of the page that includes a link to clear the log.

You can also clear both of these from the links in the event_log and manager_log rows in the Backup grid.
