    hello,

I just uploaded my site from my local host on mamp to the server to publish it online. i followed the instructions on the wiki page, and the backend and manager is working fine, BUT i am unsure as to what to set the file base manager, and file base path to: ive tired home/servername/public_html, in multiple variations and none of it seems to be working, even when i try to preview it it gives me a 505 error.

also, when i try to change it, there is this message:
    ’"

Warning: unlink(D:\Hosting\5051167\html\assets\cache\/docid_1.pageCache.php) [function.unlink]: Permission denied in D:\Hosting\5051167\html\manager\processors\cache_sync.class.processor.php on line 67

Warning: unlink(D:\Hosting\5051167\html\assets\cache\/docid_5.pageCache.php) [function.unlink]: Permission denied in D:\Hosting\5051167\html\manager\processors\cache_sync.class.processor.php on line 67

Warning: fopen(../assets/cache/siteCache.idx.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in D:\Hosting\5051167\html\manager\processors\cache_sync.class.processor.php on line 226
    Cannot open file (../assets/cache/siteCache.idx.php)
    "

i feel like its probably very simple, ive been googling and searching forums all day but to no avail.

What is the file base manager and path supposed to look like?
why am i getting this error?

thanks in advance for all your help:)

You can find the proper path in the Manager, Reports -> System Info.

The assets/cache folder and all of its files must be writable. It’s a permission problem, the solution to which depends entirely on what your server platform is and how the server is configured.

i have all the permissions in the cache folder, and its contents as 777. thats what was on the wiki. should i be using something else?

i found the file path, it says this-D:/Hosting/5051167/html/

Ah, of course, Windows. It doesn’t have permissions like 777 as a *nix server does. I don’t know how to set user permissions on Windows servers; you could post here http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/board,220.0.html and get the Windows experts’ help.
