Good Day Guys,
I’m trying to upload a video using modx quick edit feature. When I click upload button, it displays a progress bar and reaches up to 50% after that, nothing happens. The video file that I was trying to embed on the content of my resource doesn’t shows up. Same case when I try to upload the file on the "Manage Files" option it doesn’t upload the file. I already change the Maximum upload size in the configuration of Modx, and even change the PHP.ini file’s Maximum Upload of the server.
Is there a limit when uploading files using Modx? I’m using MODx evolution 1.0.2 / 1.0.3
Thanks

try .htaccess:
php_value upload_max_filesize 16M
in the manager folder for back end, or in the root folder for front end.

MODx is great, but knowing how to use it well makes it perfect!

Hi goldsky, I tried what you said and add the php_value upload_max_filesize 100M in the .htaccess inside modx and I even restarted the apache service, but it still doesn’t work.
For Evolution, go to Tools -> Configuration -> File Manager tab and check out the value for Maximum Upload Size.
For Revolution, go to System -> System Settings and check the value of upload_maxsize.

Depending on your server configuration, the web server itself can limit upload sizes. There are also memory limitations that can effect this, since moving the file from the temporary upload location to its final home can take up a good deal of memory.
While you can upload and download files with HTTP, it is good to remember that it was not designed for it; it’s named Hyper Text Transfer Protocol and not File Transfer Protocol for a reason.
Thanks Susan, I will look into that, Is there an ideal file size when uploading files using modx? Because the file size that I was trying to upload was around 11MB.

It all depends on the server configuration. I have one client who tried three hosts until they got one where they can upload their 20M+ files.
