The friendly URLs hasn’t changed, it is a matter of setting the options in the Manager’s Configuration, then having the proper .htaccess (or equivilent, depending on your server platform) rules. The vast majority of the time simply renaming the included ht.access file in your site root will do the job.

Susan, it worked on my first try. What a delight! As a MODx newbie, I had postponed confronting friendly URLs, but the .htaccess file re-name and the clear explanations and defaults in the Manager’s (Evo 1.0.4) Tools -> Configuration -> Friendly_URLs tab made it look easy, so I took the plunge. About 30 seconds later, I was able to test and verify operation as expected.

The detailed Friendly_URL options became visible only after I clicked the friendly URLs ’yes’ radio button. Commendable piece of UI design, that.
