    after a succesfull installation,

    I am using the default template to put in some text and images.
    I can add and edit text.
    Inserting images is not possible:
    Opening the insert images from the tinyMCE editor I get this message:

    Warning: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/www/htdocs/vaneesteassets/plugins/seturl_js_tinymce.inc) is not within the allowed path(s): (/www/htdocs/vaneeste:/tmp) in /www/htdocs/vaneeste/manager/media/browser/mcpuk/browser.php on line 17

    also I am unable to upload files:

    Warning: dir(/www/htdocs/vaneeste/) [function.dir]: failed to open dir: Permission denied in /www/htdocs/vaneeste/manager/actions/files.dynamic.php on line 418

    Fatal error: Call to a member function read() on a non-object in /www/htdocs/vaneeste/manager/actions/files.dynamic.php on line 421

    DB name is vaneeste. Have checked cmod settings as specified.

    I am a novice user, any help very much welcome...

      Hi Fred,

      might be a path issue, how does the path look in ftp and how does in look in the manager:
      "reports/system info" in "tools/configuration/interface and features/File base path" and in "tools/configuration/file manager" Also in the manager what does it say if you go to "elements/manage files"

      succes, Frank.

        Hello Frank thanks - it was a path issue.
        An expert could look into this and altered the first line of
        "/manager/media/browser/mcpuk/browser.php"

        define(’MODX_BASE_PATH’, realpath(’../../../../’));

        into

        define(’MODX_BASE_PATH’, realpath(’../../../../’).’/’);

        All works fine now. laugh
