Help! I have a couple MODx sites under my belt (well sort of) and now I’m starting a new one but using MAMP this time around. Everything seems to be going smoothly until I realized that I can’t get to any module settings. When I try to get to Modules -> Doc Manager it simply returns nothing. In Safari’s activity viewer it’s showing that the URL is throwing an "internal server error". Permissions all seem to be good on the files. Is it a setting in a component of MAMP? Any help is always greatly appreciated.

I’ve been using bog-standard MAMP installation for some years now, and have never run across anything like this. What version of MODx is this? Are you using friendly URLs? If so, did you also rename the ht.access file in the /manager directory?
Wow. I’m only several months in to using MODx and the community reputation of being awesomely helpful is definitely the case. It just furthers my confidence in my choice of MODx.
Susan, thanks so much for the reply. I was in the midst of posting all the "system" specs per Ryan Thrash’s post "Before posting requests for help". I think that was in response to me and now I know the deal! So to answer your questions:
I’m using Evolution 1.0.4, I do have friendly URLs enabled, and I did rename ht.access to .htaccess. The only other modification to the system I’m trying to do is to use YAMS. Currently I have that module disabled while troubleshooting this issue—both Doc Manager and YAMS are returning the blank page (and throwing the internal server error it looks like).

Ah! You must be using MAMP 1.9 (or whatever the latest version is). You’ll need to edit the Applications/MAMP/conf/php5.3/php.ini file, and add the line "magic_quotes_gpc = Off" in there somewhere; around line 381 would be an appropriate spot.
Excellent! Thank you, Susan. It didn’t seem to work in MAMP’s INI file but I placed one in the root of /manager/ and that seemed to do the trick.
