          • I once had a book, Adventures in Delphi, where half the book was the usual fairly dry description of programming in Delphi, and the other half was a 1930’s style story of a tutorial on building a database application (I forget exactly what now) in Delphi, and the "bad guy" was a competitor building the same app in some other language. I have always wanted to be able to write something like that!

                  That was an RMA/product catalog application for the "Boxlight" company smiley. I loved that book, the great thing was that it also teached you how to approach a problem like building a big application. I wish there were more books like that.

                  Edit: Sorry for getting off-topic. I got a bit carried away by good memories.
