    Just hit this speed bump on a modx install server move:

    « MODx Parse Error »
    MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
    « PHP Parse Error »

    PHP error debug
    Error: include_once() [function.include-once]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/path/to/old/server/install/assets/plugins/phx/phx.parser.class.inc.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/path/to/new/server/install/site.com.au/httpdocs:/tmp)
    Error type/ Nr.: Warning - 2
    File: /path/to/new/server/install/site.com.au/httpdocs/manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php(746) : eval()’d code
    Line: 9
      Mostly harmless.

      Sounds like something hard-coded involving PHx. Have you "saved" the configuration in your new installation? That should update the site cache, which is the most likely culprit here.

        I assume so - exported the entire db from the old site, plus the old config file’s in there. I did forget to clear cache before doing this - is there a db field I should empty to make up for this?

          To begin with, go into the database and in the plugin table set the PHx plugin’s disabled field to 1. Then the manager should work.

          Or, you could open up the siteCache.idx.php file and do a search for that path; it may not be there, but I suspect that it is. You can also delete the cache files, log in, and the manager will re-create them on saving the site Configuration.

            Tried PHx without luck. I did find those paths (and delete cache files) in siteCache.idx.php but now the screen is blank. /manager redirects to the old server (htaccess disbabled on moved site).
              Mostly harmless.

              Try clearing your browser cache and all cookies for the domain.

                Thanks - the site’s back but the manager ain’t. Problem is the base url is appearing as the previous server which might explain /manager redirecting to the old site as well as all the links from the front page.

                  OK, got it. Bit weird in the end. My new web host gave me an enforced https preview url for the moved site which could have been causing it. I ended up creating an A record for a subdomain on the original host pointing at new host ip which then had an domain alias set up. Tinkered with htaccess and got it fired up again. Was then able to log into manager, clear cache so everything works now. Head hurts - going to bed... thanks!
