"How to browse an url or file in tinyMCE editor in other folders then files"

I cannot browse all the way up to assets.
Here the procedure to reproduce my inconvenience.
1. write some text a text in tinyMCE
2. select a word and press the link button
3. browse url (first field)
4. try to browse up
Any suggestions where to set the folder for this function?

The file browser you’re referring to needs the /images /files /media and /flash folders to work properly. By default, it searches for that in /assets..
You can change that in Tools -> Configuration -> Interface & Features. Find File base path and File Browser URL. Remove assets/ from both of them, then you should be able to use /files in the webroot.
I don’t know how to change the behaviour of using the /images /files etc folders.
Of course, you can also manually type in the url to any file or image you want.
