I just moved my site from a local MAMP set-up to a subdirectory of our company website, so we could test it for the client. I tried following the documentation as best I could, and initially I was getting the CSRF error, but I got around that first by clearing cookies and the cache. I can now get to the manager login screen. But when I try logging in, I get:

    Not Found

The requested URL /cgi-system/manager/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

The URL has also changed from www.domain.com/mydirectory/manager to www.domain.com/cgi-system/manager. And if I try to reload the login page, I’m back to the CSRF errors. This is on a Dreamhost-hosted site. Before I go off mucking around, I hope somebody might be able to steer me.

    Thanks in advance!

    edit: adding some info:

    Web Server:
PHP 4 CGI (the MAMP config was using PHP 5)
    Linux

    Database:
    MySQL 5.1.39

    MODx:
    1.0.3
YAMS and ManagerManager plugins were added

      Hi,

honestly, if i were you, i would create a subdomain/virtualhost on your server to host your demo website
this way http://cgi-system.domain.com would be a root directory, far easier to work with an htaccess file (i guess you do...)

assuming you’ve set your htaccess and your /manager/include/config.inc.php data to match your server config

Did you do an upgrade install on the new site? That’s always the first thing to try (preferably before you mung anything else up wink ).

Be sure *not* to install the sample site when running the upgrade install -- that will overwrite your content.

I tried doing an upgrade install on the testing site, and it’s still a no-go, with the same problem.

@virtualgadjo - I might try doing that, but cgi-system isn’t my modx directory. I’m not sure what’s happening, but when I try to log into the manager, the site is switching the name of my directory to ’cgi-system’

funny... i hadn’t understood exactly the problem and it sounds like a bad php configuration as a cgi (that’s why ’cgi-system’) issue.

well, you should really try to create a your-directory.yourdomain subdomain to see if it works better as the problem you’re describing has a php path taste...
