    Alright guys,

I’m getting a little impatient now. I can’t wait for the release of the most anticipated Revolution in my lifetime as a web developer.

So I came up with a time killing idea and in order for it to work, everybody has to drop a line. Let’s let the MODx team know how much we appreciate their hard work by telling them what keeps Us all waiting. So here’s the question: What features are you guys looking forward to in the new MODx?

Check out this flickr thread for a small sampling of what’s new and coming:

(and this doesnt even go into xPDO, the new OOP model, vastly improved caching, and more...)

The use of Extjs is just fabulous. I tested the alpha version and it’s been a while and boy this thing looks insane. I can’t wait.

        Anyone else has some thoughts?

Oh Yes!  grin I’m really looking forward to the final (or even the Beta) of Revolution. It looks absolutely fantastic and very professional. It will probably be the best Christmas present ever.  laugh
I think, thererfor I am! But what I am, and why...?

Right on! and I a have 3 big projects (newspapers) that are only waiting the new guy to get started. I didn’t want to start on the current version because of page number limitations.

Once a fortnight I check if either a new alpha or beta is out. I am keen to have sites with the new context concept.

                Evolution has page limitations?

That’s been discussed probably hundreds of times throughout the forums, but it’s entirely dependent on how you build your site and structure the bits in the manager. 5000 is the general rule of thumb.

I agree revolution beta is probably the most exciting time since I first discovered modx and what it can do for your projects !

                      What’s hot in revolution ?
Heck, I’d say revolution itself as a whole is hot !

One thing I can’t wait to toy with is contexts (and contexts permissions) : I can already imagine how I could use this and how it will bring amazing flexibility. Also one big item I need more control over is permissions in general and the new ABAC model will certainly help achieve what I need, especially for intranets / extranets.

I look forward to using lexicons, most of the website I built are multi-languages it will prove highly valuable.

A templatable manager is a plus too, for those clients who want a customized look and/or UI.

                      Some other hot things :
                      - the ability to pass properties in chunks
                      - input and output filters (e.g PHx in core -> bye bye conflicts with snippets)
                      - static resources (let me quote documentation : A Static Resource is a Resource abstraction of an actual file on the filesystem)
