I’ve been pushing modx at work, I’ve got to the point where I am beginning to see more specific workflows for certain people that we could leverage through extension of the built in modx architecture, so I thought I’ll try modify the manager homepage after login.

I have found this wiki page http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Customizing_the_Manager_Homepage

My initial aim is,dependent on login and which role they are associated with, to add more information they would be interested in for example if site manager/webmaster (wow 90’s I know) site stats, last backup (and restore check) charts or if they are part of the blogger role then show them a strip down version of the document/resource entry screen (wordpress stylee) then automatically adds it to the blog parent node.

I just wondered about other people’s experiences about trying to do the same thing?

What snippets, pitfalls and other bits should one be aware of?

    Cheers!
