    Hello !

I use modx for several websites.
When I click on a content, and want to change something, the next window, take about 10 to 15 second to appear !!!!

In Internet Explore 8 , the window appears immediately
but in firefox, just wait...... and wait, and wait....

it’s not a network problem, because the same thing happen in local site (I use wampserver)

    configuration : Seven 64 bits, firefox 3.6.3, explorer 8

    Thanks
    Laurent huh huh

I can’t tell if you mean on the frontend of your website or in the backend manager. If it’s the frontend, then it sounds like you need to start troubleshooting for firefox. It could be anything from javascript problems to some kind of weird plugin conflict.

I would suggest that you start removing elements from your site until it starts working fast in firefox so you can pin down the cause of the slowness. You can follow the techniques here:

      http://www.devtrench.com/troubleshooting-tip-reduce-and-simplify/

If you’re having trouble with the backend, you’ll need to give more information about when and where, any errors you get, and what version of MODx.

        Thanks for your post !

I use modx 1.03 for one website and modx 0.9.6.3 for another one

they are very simple website, no flash, just modx base package

the problem is in the backend and the frontend, since 2 or 3 days. When I uploaded the websites and managed contents inline, there was no problem.

no error messages appears, it just take a verylong time to make any change in content (link, html editor, add image...)

I already had this kind of problem some month ago (with vista : not guilty, I suppose, now !)

I don’t know what to do now huh

          Hi Laurent.

If you are referring to slowness while using the manager it could also be caused by running the Firebug-plugin in Firefox. As it says http://svn.modxcms.com/docs/display/revolution/Fresh+Installation Firebug is know to slow down JS applications.

I think Devtrench is right... Firefox needs to be checked out. I use 3.6.3 and it’s very nice and fast, and that’s with Firebug running constantly. My suggestion would be to look at FF plugins you’re using - many of them hog resources.

              Thanks for our answers!

I’ll try to deactivate plug-ins and try with the add of one by one

I’ll give you the results of the tests !

              bye

Sounds like something is going on with the tinymce editor. If that is the case the firebug could help you solve the problem. You’ll want to look at the Net tab while you’re doing things that cause slowness and look for any files that don’t load, load slowly, have 404 errors. Firebug will also tell you if there are JS errors.

I would also suggest turning off all of your firefox plugins and see if that helps.
