Don’t seem to be able to add a link to an image. If I select an image in the TinyMCE editor, click the link button, and then try to link it to anything, the link field just clears itself.

Text links ok, it is just images that I don’t seem to be able to add links to. I have now gone back and checked two other sites I created with ModX and all have the same problem.

I can obviously overcome it hard-coding the html but my client can’t.

Have searched forums and googled it but can find nothing.

Site is running on a Linux server.
    ModX version is 0.9.6.3

Any ideas greatly appreciated. Hope this turns out to be as as dumb a question as it seems...

Update to above - have just checked it on two other v0.9.6.3 sites I have done recently and same problem applies. Also checked it on two more recent sites done in v1.0.2 and the problem happens in one of them but not the other, which is really odd. I cannot see any difference in their set-up or configuration. All are hosted on different servers.

      I have noticed the following
The image is selected and then I click the Link URL button in the TinyMCE WYSIWYG editor. In the pop-up window that appears the address in the browser window is:
      my address /assets/plugins/tinymce3201/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/advlink/link.htm
When I try to add a link, as soon as I click the Update button, the fields go blank and the address in the browser window is changed to:
      my address /assets/plugins/tinymce3201/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/advlink/link.htm?href=assets%2Ffiles%2FBlenheim_Sunday_Lunch_09.pdf&linklisthref=&anchorlist=&targetlist=_self&title=&classlist=&id=&style=&classes=&target=&dir=&hreflang=&lang=&charset=&type=&rel=&rev=&tabindex=&accesskey=&onfocus=&onblur=&onclick=&ondblclick=&onmousedown=&onmouseup=&onmouseover=&onmousemove=&onmouseout=&onkeypress=&onkeydown=&onkeyup=&insert=Insert#

I’ve even tried selecting a line of text above the image, the image, and a line of text below the image (i.e. all together) and applying a link to all of them at the same time. In that case the two text lines change to links but the image still won’t have a link on it.

In case this helps at all.

      Really confused. Any help appreciated.

Further update: Doh! Should have tried a different browser (am on a mac). It appears to be a Safari problem. As soon as I tried it in Firefox it was not a problem.
