I am having problems updating my site and I believe it’s cache. Here is my delima:

I have template variables for my footer, header, and navigation buttons. In my customized template, I have this code for the navigation template variable:
    [*navbuttons*]
which was working and showing fine.

In the template variable I have this code loaded for navbuttons (which is what I want to display):
    <script type="text/javascript"> var vbImgPath="navbuttons/"</script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="navbuttons/sckf6gp.js"></script>

And this is what shows in the source code of the live page (Which is wrong and close to the old code):
    <script type="text/javascript"> var vbImgPath="navbuttons-files/"</script><script type="text/javascript" src="navbuttons-/files/sckf6gp.js"></script>

Basically the site is not refreshing to the current correct code. What I am not showing in the above example is that the image sizes are also larger which is also from the old code.

    1. Would somebody please look at my site: http://www.tirerepairplug.com/ and let me know if you see 5 navigation links on the top? And whether they display correctly: Home, Purchase, FAQ’s, Instructions, and Contact.

I have cleared out the cache in my MODx manager. I have hard refreshed my cache in internet explorer. I logged in and out of MODx, and ran CCleaner which definately cleans out my cache. Finally I have done all together and the darn page still shows the old code. How can I get this updated? Is my method wrong for templates (should my template variables be chunks)?

I have never had this difficult of an issue cleaning out cache as I am having here. Please help.

This had to do with assigning template variables. This really locked in the cache. For those of you who are using template variables, I recommend making them chunks. I can already see a huge difference in load time (at least it looks that way to me), and the changes are immediate. At least this is what I found. If you believe diffently please state why here.

I’m not sure what you are talking about TBH, but if your MODx cache isn’t clearing, check you cache file permissions, or this has nothing to do with MODx itself.

Looks good to me. In correct order and all 5 links.

I had this happen a few times with me but it was not a MODx issue, it was a server proxy cache issue. It turned out the either the ISP or the hosting company was running through a proxy and that made updates, specially to the home page or index page, take a while to actually work. It was a nightmare to deal with.
