Moving MODx between folders

I’ve tried searching but haven’t found anything on this and I know the question has been asked. Sorry for being repetitive.

I’m building a site and the client wants to keep their old hosting situation. I’m assuming I can just set MODx up in a new folder and when complete just drag the files to the root folder - yes, I’m using relative links. Anyone had any experience and are there any issues to know about?

Yeah, done this several times before. If all you’re doing is moving your site from a subfolder to the root (e.g. yoursite.com/modx to yoursite.com), should be pretty straightforward, all you’d have to do is change the paths in the configuration section under Tools, and adjust your .htaccess accordingly.

If I’m forgetting anything, I’m sure someone will be along to mention it. But it IS pretty straightforward.

Awesome. Thanks.
