I have a template that has a banner on it. I now need to handle two banners but want to use the same template. I believe the normal modx approach is to have a template variable that lets you indicate per document which banner should be used for that page.

For 90% of the pages, it will use the existing banner. I’m lazy and don’t want to open every page to tell it what the template variable is for that page/document. Is there a way to auto-populate the template variable for each document without opening and editing every document one by one in the manager?

you can use the TV-field default-value for your main-banner.

To edit TVs for a lot of ressources at once you can use the modul docmanager.

Thanks! The default addressed it well. I didn’t know about the doc manager ability to change things, I’ll have to play with that.
