Manage Template Variables from within Templates

Hi Guys,

Just a quick query, is there any way to assign TVs to a template from within a Template? I have a lot of TVs for a fairly large project I’m working on and find it really tedious to go through each TV when we create a new Template and assign it. We have quite a few Templates and TVs and it can get a bit awkward to keep track of everything.

Wouldn’t it be easier to have a TV tab when your editing Templates that listed all TVs, and then you could just run down the list ticking check boxes. I could assign 20 TVs to a new Template in a couple of seconds that way.

Just a thought. I love working with modx and this is only a tiny little thing that bugs me, I think I have lazy fingers.

A TV assignment tab when creating new templates sounds like a great idea. To make sure this gets considered for a next release I recommend that you open a ticket on Jira: http://svn.modxcms.com/jira/ The more people participate with request tickets the better

When you duplicate a template all of the assigned TVs will automatically be assigned to the new template. This may save some time. Also, you could use a plugin to set a default set of TVs when creating a new template.
