Date format for TV

I’m using a date template variable, and its spitting out 10/04/2010 21:12 or whatever.

Quick question, how do I go about formatting that date? I want it to read ’10th April 2010’, or as near to that as possible. Is there a quick way, or do I need to install Phx (I think thats what I’ve done before)? Also, I’m not sure if you can use Phx on a TV, thought it was only for snippets? Could be wrong.
