I’ve set up a products page that uses a product template I created. By default all the individual product pages I create under it use that template. I have created a separate template for these pages. Each time I add a new product I need to select the correct template, easy enough. But since I’m setting the site up for someone else to manage I would prefer it if I could make so the correct template was already selected. Is this possible?

    Thanks for any input!

    Cheers! ~Jules

I tried this too but I didn’t get it to work...

I’m using MODx evolution 1.0.2, are you using the same?

            I’m using the same version.

The few things I would check are:

            • did you remove the php tags from both the top and bottom of the plugin code before you pasted it in? For that matter are you using the code from the link to MODx extras or the link to the older forum post?

            • What did you name your TV? The instructions suggest using "inheritTpl" --which is what I did. If you gave it a different name I think the instructions addressed that possibility as well.

            • Double check that you selected the correct template when you created the TV (under "Template Access") ---you should be selecting the Template for the parent resource/page. You would then edit the parent resource/page and select the template you want the children resources/pages to default to.

            Hope that helps!

I know for sure, well a 90%, one can never be sure... that I did the 2 first things you said.

I don’t have the snippet installed now and for the moment I don’t need it, so I’m going to wait with the third thing,
but either way, it is good to know that it does work on the version I have.

              Thx for the response
