This happens every time:
1. Update content
2. Cache gets emptied
3. Links must now be clicked TWICE to display any page
First click on a link: displays the home page (can be any link on the site)
Second click on the same link: displays the desired page
It’s like the page doesn’t "exist" until you click it the first time, then it gets cached and
then the cached version is displayed on the second click.
Tried turning "cacheable" off, then the pages where it’s turned off don’t display at all, no
matter how many times you click them (just goes back to the home page).
Going nuts here.
Anyone see anything like this before?
Sorry, forgot.

OK, here’s what I think it is, first thing: Is the error page setting in your System Configuration within MODx set to the homepage? If so, I suspect that you have a cached snippet on your page somewhere that is causing issues. (Or, at least, erroring somewhere to cause it to redirect to the error page)
When the page is cached and you clear the cache, the snippet will be run on the first visit because it needs to be re-cached, subsequent visits will not the run the snippet because it has stored the output in the cache file. It explains why the page continually fails when you turn the page caching, as the problematic snippet will be executed on every page request.
Try removing the snippets one by one from the page until you find the problematic one, it’s then a case of debugging it to find the problem.

Garry you’re a genius!
Found the offending snippet and now it’s working perfectly.
I was pulling my hair out and never would have thought to narrow it down that way.
Thanks a ton!
