    Hi
I have built a modx site in a sub directory on a client server (I won’t go into why etc but it was required).
As the site development is now finished the client wants to migrate the site into the main directory and make it the ’main’ site...

    For example:
www.XXXclientsite.com/CMS < (where modx is currently installed for testing etc)
Should become www.XXXclientsite.com < (Modx moves from the folder called CMS to become the main site)

Can I just drag the files out of the CMS directory into the main directory and then change some configuration settings as the DBase etc are still on the server or will I need to do a fresh install and migrate as if moving to a ’new’ server?

I have done this successfully in the past with Joomla but now I have changed to Modx I need to know if the same methods will work or I have more to do. grin
    Thanks.

That’s the way to do it. All you need to change is your .htaccess file’s RewriteBase setting and two settings in the Configuration file; one in the Interface and Features tab (the path setting) and the File Manager tab (again, the path setting).

I hoped it would work that way... Another thumbs up for Modx!

Thanks for the quick response (again! ...Not the first time you have sorted my queries!) grin
