Hi - I’m hoping someone can help. I’m an account manager with a temporary file problem who is stuck between the developer, hosting company and client...

MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
    « PHP Parse Error »

    PHP error debug
Error: Unknown: open(/services/webpages/h/s/hshotels.co.uk/temp/sess_1735ce01bef747a607263c0b612e26bc, O_RDWR) failed: File too large (27)
    Error type/ Nr.: Warning - 2
    File: Unknown
    Line: 0

    Parser timing
    MySQL: 0.0015 s (0 Requests)
    PHP: 0.1152 s
    Total: 0.1168 s

This error happens regularly as (apparently) session files are created and put into a temporary folder my client can’t access and therefore can’t remove. This file gets so big that the above error message appears on the site and we have to get the host to remove it. How can I stop this happening? My developer is saying it’s the hosting company’s problem as the log files are generated by the host while my hosting company says it’s a modx issue? Who’s right huh

    Thanks in advance.

Without looking at your host thoroughly I can’t say for sure, but from the looks of things it seems that the host is not cleaning up sessions properly. Either that or you’re somehow storing abnormally huge amounts of data in them. My money would be on this being somehow a config problem with the host.
