Are you using the Rich Text editor for this? You can control what kind of ULRs it produces with the plugin’s Configuration tab, and the Path Options settings (choose fullpathurl).
I’ll try but I’m assuming it will do it for all pages. I only need it for one template. It’s a newsletter template
How about just a chunk:
{{url}}bla-bla
with [(site_url)] in the chunk (or a TV)?
A plugin could work, but if the page contains a fraction (1/2) or any URL or any other slash, it will come out looking pretty odd.

The [~123~] notation generates full URLs. That’s the beauty of using page_id’s.

You’d think I would know that.

Thanks for catching it.

That’s really a different question... resources could be ANYWHERE, so how could MODx possibly know where to find them unless you had added them to a searchable database table?
There are some workarounds (if I’m understanding you correctly)... e.g. designate a folder in assets, then create folders that use the same name as page aliases... but it’s not as flexible as having assets tracked in a database.
I have
1. Image TVs - solved as I can do it like {{base_url}}[*image1*]
2. I have link id TVs - solved as I can do it like {{base_url}}[~[*linkId1*]~]
3. The content rich textarea that can be used to insert links. The links will not have a full URL.
Usually there are no more then 2 or 3 links so before a newsletter is sent I have to enter full paths for those links.
To solve 3 I only see 2 options: plugin or using a full path instead of choosing the document from the dropdown list.
I haven’t done extensive tests for different mail readers but seems that gmail and thunderbird know to link to the correct document.

I ran across this feature when setting up a "mail-a-friend" link. Your mail content in the mailto: body part can have relative links, but the mail client displays full URLs. The Mac Mail app does this as well as gmail.
