How can I port an existing Wordpress blog to MODx?

Hi,
I have a client that has a fairly mature blog with hundreds of posts in Wordpress, currently hosted on Wordpress.com - I have read that it’s easily possible to port wordpress to MODx, though frustratingly haven’t managed to find any instructions on how this can be achieved... I have ported XML from the wordpress blog but can’t see how it would be possible to port into MODx.
I would be really grateful if anyone out there could shed any light on this.
Thanks a lot,
Alex.

Hi there,

have a look at this post: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,42534.msg256338.html#msg256338

Hi,
Thanks for this link - unfortunately this php script needs to be running on the same server as where the mysql database is... My friend’s site is a wordpress hosted site so the only export option is the Wordpress XML format (WordPress eXtended RSS). Does anyone know of a way to import this?
Thanks very much in advance for any further help on this... I really want to use MODx to rebuild his site but it’s important to keep the old posts...
