    I wanted to know how best to go about this, there is several good posts about this subject like

    http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,42167.0.html

    1) I have created a TV called "Meta_Keywords"

    2) Input type: Text

    3) Default Value:add keywords Stuff,More Stuff,Stuff2

    4)add [*Meta_Keywords*]to top template

    Ok When I do this the keywords are adding directly to the top of my site which causes my menu and banner to drop down, which means i cannot use this method. Does anyone know how to stop this from happening. I also need to add keywords to my products I would be interested to hear how other people do this with TV, because I am not going to use the manage meta tags and keywords tabs as TV are the way forwards I guess.

    you can also add @INHERIT with the description which is great for the whole site, but what about individual Categories, and product can you have descriptions for these?

    @BINDINGS – "bind" virtually anything as an input source or the default value to TVs: a logic evaluation (@EVAL), a value from an ancestor document (@INHERIT), an API call, a file uploaded to a specific directory on your web server (@FILE), an RSS feed, a file listing in a directory (@DIRECTORY), another page’s content values found in your site (@DOCUMENT) or pretty much anything else you can dream up. The combination of @BINDINGS and the output transformation "widgets", like dynamically transforming an uploaded .csv file into a data grid, is a combination that many developers find aluring.

    So do you use @bindings in the same place as @inherit, I haven’t got around to sitemaps yet bet I will be soon. So does anyone use @bindings with sitemaps?.

    If you use any other methods for SEO, SEM, it would be great to hear from you

      The meta TV tag should be in the <head> section of your template. If it already is, make sure your HTML code is valid.

      Um ... @INHERIT is one of the @bindings so I’m not sure what you’re asking here. @bindings are generally only intended for use in the Default Value or Input Option Values fields of a template variable.

      Hope this helps.

        <meta name="keywords" content="[*meta_keywords*]" />
        <meta name="content" content="[*meta_content*]" />

        As bob suggests @INHERIT will allow u to set meta data at the top level of your site and have it filter down using @INHERIT. This is good as you may forget to add it etc?

        U can then add it per page as needed...

          Thanks for your help

          So I added <meta name="keywords" content="[*meta_keywords*]" /> to the head section of my site which is in the chunk header_section. But the keywords are added directly to the top of my site which causes my menu and banner to drop down, which is not good.

          When I add keywords normally like <meta name="Keywords" content= "keyword1, keyword2," /> I don’t have this problem, i am using version 1.0.2. I would like to use the TV method but i want be able to if they are added directly to the top of the site. Has anyone come across this before?

              Could be you needed to clear the cache; changing templates, chunks or TVs (anything other than documents) doesn’t automatically clear the cache, so if the page you’re working on was cached you won’t see the changes.
