      It’s a session problem where your sessions aren’t working with your host. You might contact your server admins about that (or web host).

        Is this the same question you raised yesterday? Did you have any joy contacting your web host about the sessions save path?

        Thanks Aaron

          Hello, yes it’s the same problem I posted yesterday...Actually, I found it quite difficult explaining in words the problem to the company that hosts my site so I thought I would post another one for more help. Although, I do appreciate any help given so far you understand! I received a response saying that all system requirements were being met to host modx. I’m just wondering if I’m at the mercy of my hosts knowledge or if there is something that can be done by me in my domain control panel.

          Thanks for you input.

              Hi Andy,

              If you just ask your hosting company the following, they should know how to fix this for you as it is a server configuration issue or sometimes some web hosting companies require that users set the save path, if this is the case they will have some instructions for you to follow.

              Thanks Aaron

              Hi,

              I am trying to use a php application on my hosting account which is currently reporting problems saving PHP session files.

              It looks like the PHP Session Save path is incorrect or that I need to define where sessions should be saved for my site, the error I am receiving is:

              PHP error debug
              Error: Unknown: open(.\/sess_37d5d1ab6d8bb8af71b19ad319f9b735, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory

              Could you let me know how to correct the session save path for my website please?

              Thanks

                  Hello Ryan and Aaron

                  I received the following from my hosting company...

                  Hello Andy,

                  Session is working fine in the server. Also we are unable to find out the exact issue that is causing the errors in modx.
                  Could you please contact the founder of modx and get back to us with the steps that we want to do in the server to solve the issue, it will help us very much to solve this issue.

                  Any help much appreciated.

                  Thanks

                  Andy

                    Hi Andy,

                    Could you create a php page on your website and provide me the url either post here or if you do not want to share the phpinfo info send me a private message.

                    <?php
                    phpinfo();
                    ?>

                    Name this file something like test.php and upload to your website and then just let me know the URL, there will be a section in it called sessions like this:

                    session.save_handler files files
                    session.save_path D:\apps\PHP5\sessiondata D:\apps\PHP5\sessiondata

                    Thanks Aaron

                      Hi Aaron

                      Thanks again...I’m a bit unsure how to create a php test page...Would it be possible to give me some test code and I’ll stick it in a test file and upload it as test.php?

                      Sorry for being such a novice.
